Last year Christmas tree minis were super popular! I've put together some of my favorite family pictures that I took last year that I feel confident were used as personalized…
I never thought I would use the words "cozy", "fall" and "Houston" together, but this session seriously has those vibes! It helps that one of the people in the family…
I love the word charming. It's such a great way to describe Paige! She wanted a senior session that showed off her personality as well as her passion for being…
Beach sessions in the Houston area are my favorite when it isn’t too hot! They key is to do them before the June heat really sets in, which is exactly what Meredith and her family did! This wonderful family was vacationing together at Surfside Beach and wanted some photos together. And can you blame them? Beach photos are really fun. And it’s a fun way to get multiple generations together in a photo. It was a ton of fun capturing this Surfside beach family session.
They packed some cute beach-ready outfits for the shoot. Everyone looked like they coordinated without looking like they tried, which is really hard to accomplish! Three generations of the family are in the photos, and I made sure to capture each family unit individually, as well as entire family shots. I loved how the kids played as their parents had some sweet moments.
This past spring I held mini sessions that exude spring! With loads of flowers, a couch and a chandelier, the setup was gorgeous. Add onto it that the light was perfect, and these mini sessions turned out even better than I imagined! The set up was dreamed up by Amie from College Park Flowers. This was our second time pairing together for mini sessions, and Amie went all out!! She turned it into a gorgeous, fun spring minis in Houston.
So thankful to my clients who booked: we have the Ferrara’s whose daughters are almost teens and are growing up so fast! There’s the Cortese’s who have a son who is almost as tall as his dad, much to the chagrin of his parents! The Watson’s who have an adorable little boy who loves to be silly and crossfit with his parents. And lastly? We have the Pike’s! Sarah is a previous bride who was expecting for this session, so we turned it into a mini maternity session!
Did you know people from Texas are obsessed with bluebonnets? As a transplant from Canada, I didn't know this until I moved to Houston and experienced the spring obsession fill…
I’m a sucker for a good themed party, whether it’s for a birthday or not. Thus, when Jennifer reached out about capturing her son’s Jurassic Park themed birthday party, I was stoked! Her son was turning 5 and loves dinosaurs {who doesn’t}, and thus a theme was born! If you don’t know Jennifer, she is the wildly talented baker behind Good Gosh Ganache. The cakes she designs are edible art. She is talented on a level that blows my mind, if I am being honest. She has made several cakes for me for birthdays and events and they all have exceeded my expectations.
The party was held at Kid n Play in Pearland, as they have rooms for families to set up tables to host a party. Jennifer hired Kashmire Productions to design the look of the party, and it killed it. It really felt like the jungle, with touches of dinosaur eggs and plastic dinosaurs. Of course there is the cake Jennifer made, that looks like the doors to Jurassic Park on one tier, a dinosaur skeleton on the middle tier and glowing lava on the top tier. It glowed. Not to just have one dessert, there were also dinosaur skeleton cookies hidden in “dirt” that the kids could brush to find, just like archaeologists. It was smart AF! Plus, there was chocolate pudding with bones on top, and amber popsicles with mosquitoes inside. The attention to detail to the first movie was insane!
The biggest thing though? They hade Jurassic Extreme come to the party! Two raptors were at the party, mingling with the kids and parents, not eating them! It was wild!! The kids were both scared and excited about them, and they made for epic photos!
These vendors made the magic happen! We are so lucky to have such talented people in Houston

So what do you think? Was this the perfect Jurassic Park themed birthday party or what?
When you meet a family as fun and wacky as Kayla’s, you know their portrait session is going to be awesome! Kayla confessed that they hadn’t had family pictures “in forever”. Considering her family is large, unconventional and awesome, she preferred a location as unique as them. We were hoping the blue trees would still be around, but sadly they had faded, so we went to plan B. And plan B was awesome: graffiti walls!
We started off at the Houston wall because the light was hitting it perfectly. Plus, it’s iconic, ok? I love the sets when they are walking towards me, looking iconic. Then we went across the street to the zipper wall. We all loved the wall because of its vibrant colors. Right beside that wall were two other walls with vibrant red and purple shades, so obviously we had to do pictures there too!!
I think my favorite moment is when they all tried to jump in the air at the same time. It reminded me of one of my favorite scenes in The Office when the group trips to nail the jump. It is perfectly imperfect, and makes me laugh every time!!
When looking all this fun family photography, which moment is your favorite? Is it the group shots of them walking towards the camera, the jumping photo, or did something else jump out at you?
